Tiled Flower

This image is created from a photo I took of this flower (not sure what kind) in the parking lot of the Candlewood Suites Hotel when I was staying in Irvine, California, USA.

I remembered coming across an image that was composed of various tiles that constructed the main object of the image.

So, all I've done here is to mimic that style by using the marquee tool and cutting out individual pieces onto their own layers which I then moved around a bit randomly; later I adjusted to what I thought would make for a better look. I added stroke border around the pieces and put a gradient in the background. The purple gradient colour was chosen to complement the yellow of the petals.
